Welcome to Hypnotes ~ Weight

This month I will be looking at weight loss. Weight loss through hypnotherapy is well known about, just as many people associate smoking cessation with hypnotherapy.
The approach to using hypnotherapy for weight loss is similar to the approach used for smoking cessation, basically that is, if you are doing it to ‘just to see if you can’ then don’t waste your time or money.
To lose weight you have to be sure you want to do it, and once you are really sure you want to lose weight that is when, in many cases, hypnotherapy can help.

If you have been on more than one diet you have failed. Each time you start a new diet or eating regime you know, before you start that you are going to fail, and that is because you have a history of failing, things might be fine for a while but eventually the weight goes back on, plus a bit more. This is because you know deep down you are only saying the words, lamely going through diet regime, you have not changed any thought patterns. There may be fleeting times of certainty, determination, but they all too often pass. To be successful you have to do something different. You have to change your thoughts and perspectives.

When you decide your going to stop eating and drinking unnecessary food and drink, your subconscious rarely says to you “by doing this you are going to feel better, be more active and enjoy life more”, instead it reminds you “ no more chocolate, no more chips or crisps or whatever your favourite treats may be” so immediately you associate diet with denial, and as human beings we don’t like to be denied. From that moment on you have often lost the will and the positive thoughts are gone.

If you change the way you think however, then you change the way you behave.
Remember this simple equation, if you say yes to one thing you are saying no to something else.
When you Yes to unnecessary food and drink you are saying NO to yourself.

Instead, say NO, because when you say NO to unnecessary food or drink you are saying YES to yourself. You are saying, YES to feeling happier, YES to feeling more confident, YES to being more active, YES to better health and sometimes YES to longer life.

However do remember food is the life force, if you don’t eat enough food you will become ill, so remember to eat three meals a day. Breakfast is important, if you don’t have time for breakfast, get up earlier. Change the way you think!  If you are in any doubt about what you should eat and drink or have dietary restrictions speak your medical doctor. Do exercises in moderation, start gently, any doubts about your health, again speak to your medical doctor. But do remember if you do the same thing over and over again you will get the same result. If you do something different, the outcome will be different.  So remember to change your thoughts, as well as your food intake, it will help your mind and body to work together to achieve your goal.
